The Dry Mouth Relief Center at Oxford Valley (DMRC) is a unique Salivary Health Practice, dedicated to helping patients manage the debiliating effects of hyposalivation or Dry Mouth. We are focused primarily on Dry Mouth conditions caused by side effects of Medications taken for other medical and health needs. DMRC is a General Dental Office with the same standards of care for your dental needs as other offices in the Philadelphia region. In addition to our high standards of dental care, we have incorporated a medical model in order to more fully address the dry mouth conditions in our patients. This means we are able to offer advice and treatment to our patients and their medical care providers concerning the dry mouth condition and how to specifically improve the impact by educated use of dose regimen, nutrition, life style changes, and dental support techniques to combat this condition.
Our practice offers many new non-drug methods to reduce the severity of this condition. We are the only healthcare practice in the Philadelphia region dedicated to understanding your needs and helping you overcome the effects of Dry Mouth. Our practice ALSO offers general dentistry to patients of record in our Clinical Research Panels. Insurance coverage you may be entitled to will be discussed before major care is started. We offer our individually tailored care for as reasonable a cost as practical. To help up control costs, we do require payment at time of service. We offer to pre-authorize your care as suggested by your insurance carrier to speed your re-imbursement.
Our Research Practice...Contract Dental Evaluations is known worldwide for innovation in conducting Clinical Studies on a variety of dental products. Several Dry Mouth Relief products have been carefully studied by our group. We will share the knowledge we have gained to help patients manage their Dry Mouth condition.
Our management of Dry Mouth starts with understanding and measuring the severity of your individual case. We have developed novel non-invasive techniques to accomplish this without discomfort or pain. Our nursing staff will also evaluate your health condition with a medical interview and discuss the drugs you are presently taking as they may relate to your dry mouth condition.
Our expert Dental team will then assess the condition of your oral health with state of the art tools including digital low dose x-rays, low level laser aided detection of decay, systems that assess gum condition, and intra-oral camera systems for checking your overall dental health. We will next prepare a complete treatment plan with specific recommendations with your dry mouth condition. The Dry Mouth Relief Center at Oxford Valley can provide specialized Hygiene Support to you on an ongoing basis. Your other Dental needs, like fillings, caps, dentures,etc are available through our practice.
Management of your Dry Mouth condition is expected to be a regular part of your oral care. Appointments should be made once per month for the first 6 months, then every 3 months while on medications known to cause Dry Mouth. Of course your specific needs will be tailored into your unique dry mouth management profile.
Your friends and family may also choose to join our practice as a dry mouth is something that everyone has experienced sometime in their life. While we may not be required or asked to directly address minor dry mouth episodes, we can offer our general dentistry in such a manner as to avoid worsening the incidence and impact, by using special techniques and materials in our general dental care.
We also offer "office supervised" at-home whitening systems custom tailored to you. AS leaders in the supporting research for in-office and at-home whitening systems, we can custom tailor your whitening system to your dry mouth condition.
